When it came to designing a crewneck sweater, looked backtohistorical archives to find their inspiration. The Arne sweatdraws from the sweaters of the 1930s – their heavyweight, diagonally woven loopbackfleece jersey remains a gold standard in fabric construction.
As is often the case with such simple items, the smalltouches can make a massive difference. So whilst the fabric was sorted, it was still a mission to iterate and find the perfectshape and details to realise their vision. The cut is slightly relaxed – how any good sweater should be – with set-in sleeves and extra thick ribbed cuffs and hem for a vintage look. The neck also has a thick ribbing although nowhere near the width of the aforementioned cuffs. It's all finished off with a durable twin-needle stitch.
